Site Manager

Role Overview

Join Compass Community as a Site Manager dedicated to maintaining and securing our school and children’s residential home environments. You will ensure that facilities are safe, well-kept, and compliant, supporting a welcoming atmosphere for children, staff, and visitors.

Key Duties

• Perform routine repairs such as carpentry, plumbing, and painting.
• Conduct inspections and swiftly address maintenance concerns.
• Assist in adhering to health and safety protocols, including fire safety and water hygiene.
• Maintain external areas including playgrounds, pathways, and parking lots.
• Manage site security procedures like opening/closing and emergency responses.
• Record maintenance activities and participate in audits and inspections.
• Support school events and collaborate respectfully with all stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

• Hands-on experience in building maintenance or caretaking roles.
• Sound knowledge of health and safety standards.
• Competence in completing minor repairs safely and effectively.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work autonomously.
• A flexible, reliable, and child-centered approach.

Additional Preferences

• Experience within educational institutions is advantageous.
• Holding basic trade qualifications or NVQs is preferred.
• Knowledge of fire safety and water hygiene protocols is beneficial.

Requirements

• Possession of a full UK driving license if required for multi-site duties.
• Willingness to obtain enhanced DBS clearance.
• Basic IT skills sufficient for job logging and email communication.

Working Hours and Flexibility

This is a full-time position with some flexibility needed for occasional work outside standard hours.
