Job description
Role overview
We are looking for a Service Delivery Coordinator to support field services operations focused on directional drilling. This position is based in Dammam, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia, with the work location specified as SA-DHAHRAN-ABQAIQ HIGHWAY (BLD-1039780). The assignment runs for 6 months.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day directional drilling activities and contribute to live operational decisions.
- Coordinate and assist DD, MWD, and LWD field engineers in the field.
- Keep operations aligned with the drilling plan and the client’s project objectives.
- Track drilling efficiency indicators such as ROP, NPT, and trajectory adherence, and support performance improvements.
- Maintain clear, professional communication with clients and nurture strong working relationships.
- Ensure operational reporting is accurate and that data quality remains high throughout execution.
Technical capability and working style
- Hands-on understanding of directional drilling and well trajectory control.
- Ability to design and evaluate BHAs for RSS and motor-based drilling.
- Working knowledge of vibration reduction, torque and drag management, and hole-cleaning practices.
- Experience using real-time drilling data and drilling software tools.
- Comfortable making sound decisions quickly in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication, including reporting to clients and internal teams.
- Proactive approach to managing client expectations.
- Commitment to reducing NPT and improving drilling performance.
- Awareness of HSE practices and compliance requirements.
- Ability to help reinforce a strong safety-first culture in field operations.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in directional drilling.
- Prior exposure to Saudi Arabia, especially an Aramco setting, is strongly preferred.
- Experience with HTHP wells is highly desirable.
- Background in RSS and motor drilling operations is preferred.
- Relevant experience should include directional drilling, MWD/LWD operations, well construction, or drilling services.
- Practical knowledge of directional drilling, BHA design, torque and drag, vibration mitigation, hole cleaning, and real-time optimization.
- Familiarity with real-time drilling software, well planning tools, and reporting systems; industry-standard platforms are preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Petroleum, Mechanical, or a related field.
- Experience in oil and gas drilling services, especially directional drilling, is required.
- Valid driving license is required.
- H2S certification is required.
- IWCF or IADC certification is preferred.
- English fluency is mandatory.
- Arabic language skills are preferred.
