Job description
Overview
This opening is shared on behalf of a partner organization, which will handle applications and the remaining hiring steps. The partner is seeking a Senior Specialist, Knowledge Management located in Kenya.
The role plays a key part in improving how institutional knowledge is captured, organized, and kept current within a fast-moving Trust and Safety function. You will convert scattered documents, operational expertise, and policy references into a clear, scalable knowledge framework that supports accurate decisions at scale.
The position is focused on creating order in complex environments, making sure essential information stays reliable, easy to find, and aligned with day-to-day operations.
You will work closely with policy, operations, quality assurance, and subject matter experts to keep knowledge up to date and useful across teams.
This is a high-ownership role in a globally distributed environment that calls for strong influence, independence, and the ability to impose structure in uncertain situations. Your work will contribute directly to the consistency, accuracy, and efficiency of Trust and Safety operations worldwide. It combines systems design with change management, shaping how knowledge is created, shared, and sustained across the organization.
Key responsibilities
- Review the current knowledge environment, pinpointing missing content, contradictions, outdated material, and inconsistent references across policy, compliance, and operations.
- Build and evolve the information architecture that determines how knowledge is organized, stored, governed, and retrieved by teams.
- Create and enforce standards for documentation, templates, version control, content lifecycles, and quality expectations across knowledge assets.
- Manage dependencies so that changes in source material are reflected accurately in downstream documentation and operational workflows.
- Set up structured ways to capture undocumented and tacit knowledge from subject matter experts through interviews, workshops, and documentation efforts.
- Establish feedback mechanisms with QA and operations teams to surface knowledge gaps and recurring issues that affect frontline work.
- Support the long-term integrity of the knowledge base through scheduled audits, reviews, and lifecycle management.
- Work with training and operational leaders to ensure knowledge is translated effectively into daily practice across global teams.
- Define and monitor measures such as freshness of content, search performance, coverage gaps, and onboarding effectiveness.
- Serve as a coordination hub for knowledge movement across distributed Trust and Safety teams.
Requirements
- Between 3 and 5 years of experience in knowledge management, content strategy, program management, or a similar discipline.
- Background in Trust and Safety, content moderation, or platform integrity environments is considered a strong advantage.
- Demonstrated success in auditing, reorganizing, and improving intricate or fragmented knowledge systems.
- Comfort working through ambiguity, incomplete inputs, and changing priorities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across functions.
- Experience creating documentation systems, governance structures, and content lifecycle frameworks.
- Analytical thinking with a strong eye for inconsistencies, risk, and operational impact.
- Ability to work independently in a distributed global setting.
- Highly organized, accountable, and able to balance multiple priorities.
- Quick learner with a proactive approach and consistent follow-through on complex work.
