About the Role
Join Air New Zealand in Auckland as a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, playing an essential role in advancing our digital transformation journey. This position demands leadership in enhancing quality assurance capabilities to guarantee top-notch software solutions aligned with our customer-centric values and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage actively in the complete development cycle using agile and lean practices such as Kanban and Scrum.
- Create, implement, and refine new automated test scenarios derived from functional and technical requirements.
- Oversee and update existing automation and regression tests, continuously improving test suites.
- Integrate software engineering principles into test engineering to maintain the long-term value of testing assets.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, QA personnel, and business analysts to troubleshoot and improve software design for automation.
- Contribute to shaping the strategic roadmap for our automation tools and testing methodologies.
- Ensure adherence of both manual and automated testing to established standards and guidelines.
- Support user acceptance testing processes to confirm all requirements and features satisfy stakeholder expectations before deployment.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to fellow QA engineers.
Experience and Skills Required
- Over five years of experience as a Senior QA Automation Engineer within a technology-driven organization.
- Proven expertise in software testing and test strategy development in complex technical environments.
- Strong practical knowledge of Java-based automation frameworks, continuous integration and delivery systems, and test-driven development.
- Hands-on experience with prominent automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Rest Assured, JUnit, and TestNG.
- Proficiency with tools that support fast delivery of quality software through continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
- Experience mentoring technical teams and collaborating effectively across various product team areas.
- In-depth understanding of contemporary quality assurance practice, automation models, and Agile software development lifecycle.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal capabilities.
