Job description
Role overview
Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced and organised musculoskeletal physiotherapist to join its outpatient physiotherapy service in a senior Band 6 role. The post suits someone who is enthusiastic about MSK care and can work flexibly across Berkshire based on service requirements. Hours can be full-time or part-time, and weekend working is not mandatory.
The service handles a broad mix of referrals from GP practices, First Contact Practitioners, orthopaedic clinics, the Triage and Assessment Service (TAS), the Specialist Spinal Service (IPASS), the Community Specialist Service (CSS), and self-referrals. You will join a collaborative team covering bands 3 to 7, with support from Band 7 Clinical Specialist Physiotherapists and strong links to Advanced Practice Physiotherapists for supervision, training, and development.
Key duties
This role focuses on delivering a responsive outpatient physiotherapy service for adults and children with musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions. You will work autonomously, managing assessment, treatment, and caseloads to a consistently high standard.
In addition to direct patient care, you will contribute to the supervision and education of Band 5 physiotherapists, physiotherapy assistants, students on placement, and work experience learners. You will also take an active part in service development and quality improvement initiatives.
