Job description
Role overview
This position sits within the new Online Safety Project Office and is focused on helping to build a safer and more trusted online environment for Singapore. It is suited to someone motivated by public-impact work in online safety and content governance.
What you will do
- Review reports from stakeholders and feedback from the public on online content, then respond in a timely and flexible way.
- Assess potentially harmful online material carefully and make balanced decisions on how it should be handled.
- Lead and support negotiations with industry partners and coordinate with whole-of-government stakeholders on relief measures for victims affected by harmful online content.
- Participate in weekend on-call duty at least once each month.
What the team is looking for
- A background in Humanities, Computer Science, Social Sciences, Mass Communications, or Legal Studies.
- Genuine interest in online safety and familiarity with how online services work, including social media platforms and app stores.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in public policy, online content regulation, online trust and safety, content moderation, horizon scanning, or strategic futures work is an advantage.
- Strong analytical ability, interpersonal skills, and written communication.
