Job description
Role overview
This is a senior, hands-on HR opportunity for an Australia-based professional supporting a fast-scaling technology company working in AI infrastructure. The position sits at the core of people operations and spans the full employee journey, from hiring and onboarding through to offboarding. It blends day-to-day execution with process design, so you’ll be expected to keep HR operations running smoothly while also helping build scalable people practices for a growing business.
You’ll collaborate closely with leadership, Legal, Finance, and People teams to strengthen employee experience, maintain compliance across jurisdictions, and keep HR systems and data accurate. The environment is fast-moving and high-growth, so the role calls for someone who can work independently, bring structure to complexity, and handle sensitive people matters with confidence.
This role is listed through a hiring partner, which will manage applications and all follow-up steps on behalf of the employer.
Key accountabilities
- Run HR operations end to end across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, role changes, and leave administration within a PEO setup.
- Keep compliance processes current and effective by managing registrations, policy revisions, mandatory training, and audit preparation.
- Administer employee benefits and serve as the primary contact for brokers and external HR/PEO partners.
- Support compensation and total rewards activities, including offer letter preparation, market benchmarking, and coordination with Finance and Legal.
- Manage employee relations matters such as performance concerns, accommodations, workplace conflict, and exits with discretion and good judgment.
- Work with legal counsel on sensitive issues, ensuring documentation is complete and risk is appropriately managed.
- Assist with performance review cycles, manager enablement, and people initiatives such as engagement surveys and onboarding improvements.
- Maintain strong HR data quality and support reporting and HRIS accuracy for metrics such as headcount and attrition.
Requirements
- Between 5 and 8 years of experience in HR Generalist or HR Operations roles, preferably in a fast-growing startup or technology environment.
- Hands-on experience in a PEO or multi-state employment structure, such as Justworks, Rippling, or a similar platform.
- Solid working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage employee relations issues professionally and with strong emotional intelligence.
- Strong written communication skills, with careful attention to documentation and accuracy.
- Comfort working across Legal, Finance, Operations, and leadership functions.
- High standards of confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with HR automation tools such as Zapier or scripting, HRIS optimization, AI-based HR workflows, and certifications like PHR or SHRM-CP.
Benefits
- Competitive pay aligned to experience and market benchmarks.
- Equity participation in a venture-backed, high-growth company.
- Comprehensive healthcare coverage, including medical, dental, and vision.
- Unlimited paid time off and flexible work arrangements.
- Life and disability insurance coverage.
- 401(k) with employer match, where applicable.
- Home office allowance and monthly internet reimbursement.
- Flexible parental leave policies.
- Regular team offsites and bonding events.
- Access to modern tools, continuous learning, and growth opportunities.
