Job description
Role overview
The Senior Finance Manager will take charge of financial planning, analysis, and reporting for The Summit of Future’s programs, events, and wider operations. This is a part-time, on-site position in Abu Dhabi, where the role will support both strategic decisions and day-to-day execution through accurate financial insight.
Key accountabilities
- Lead budgeting exercises, forecast cash flow, and review variances to help guide operational and strategic choices.
- Build, implement, and track financial controls that strengthen governance and accuracy.
- Ensure accounting practices comply with applicable local regulations and recognized accounting standards.
- Work with external auditors and financial institutions whenever coordination is required.
- Partner with leadership, operations, sponsorship, and procurement teams to assess spend, monitor income, and improve financial outcomes.
- Prepare structured financial updates and presentations for senior stakeholders.
- Streamline finance processes and support junior finance staff or outsourced accounting partners with guidance and oversight.
Qualifications and experience
- Strong capability in financial planning and analysis, including forecasting, budgeting, and variance review.
- Solid background in financial reporting, management accounting, and cash flow control.
- Good understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and compliance requirements.
- Experience working across teams and handling stakeholder relationships in a collaborative setting.
- Advanced spreadsheet and financial modeling ability, with working knowledge of ERP or accounting systems.
- Hands-on experience managing finances for large-scale events, projects, or organizations, ideally in entertainment, conferences, or cultural environments.
- Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and judgment, with strong accuracy and attention to detail.
- Confident communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline; professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or CFA are strongly preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in a fast-moving, dynamic environment.
