Role overview
BlueScope’s Performance, Reporting & Risk team is hiring a Senior Finance Analyst to work from Mascot and Port Kembla. The position sits within the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio and supports a large, complex manufacturing environment serving both domestic and export customers.
Following a recent organisational restructure, this role will provide high-level financial reporting support, commercial analysis and leadership across accounting and reporting activities. You will work closely with senior stakeholders in Australia and New Zealand to improve performance, consistency and business decision-making.
What you will do
- Take ownership of financial reporting and performance analysis from end to end, including key month-end, half-year and year-end close activities.
- Ensure reports are delivered accurately, on time and in line with compliance requirements, while supporting reconciliations, budgeting and forecasting.
- Improve reporting and accounting processes by simplifying, standardising and strengthening ways of working.
- Help build capability and consistency within the finance function through continuous improvement.
- Work with business leaders to provide practical insights that support decisions and challenge performance.
- Convert financial information into clear recommendations for both finance and non-finance audiences.
- Offer guidance on technical accounting issues while maintaining strong controls and governance.
- Support compliance with accounting standards and robust reconciliation practices.
About you
You are a motivated and inquisitive finance professional who enjoys learning and bringing structure to complex work. You combine technical finance capability with strong stakeholder engagement and a practical mindset.
