Opportunity Overview
Gleeds is offering a senior role within their Riyadh team to manage commercial contracts claims for a major giga building project in Saudi Arabia. This position involves post-contract commercial management within the buildings and real estate construction sector, providing a chance to enhance your career in a supportive and professional environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee projects ensuring the delivery of high-quality services aligned with Gleeds' procedures.
- Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with clients.
- Review and respond to contractors' contractual correspondence and notice letters diligently.
- Establish and defend entitlement regarding extensions of time (EOT), prolongation, and disruption claims.
- Assess contractor submissions for compliance and ensure clear, auditable evidence of entitlement and quantum.
- Manage a large volume of pending correspondence with timely, prioritized responses.
- Set up and maintain correspondence tracking systems compatible with client document systems across multiple stakeholders, providing real-time updates.
- Coordinate complex response letters across technical, project controls, commercial, and contracts teams.
- Engage confidently with senior-level stakeholders including client representatives and project management consultants (PMC).
- Work under FIDIC-based contract frameworks or similar, especially within the Middle East context.
- Stay updated on the contractor claims landscape for Saudi mega-projects.
- Prepare and present detailed reports to clients.
- Promptly inform Directors of any project issues or potential risks.
Candidate Profile
- Chartered status such as MRICS, FRICS, MCIArb, or equivalent.
- Educational background including LLM, BSc in Quantity Surveying, Law degree, or similar qualifications.
- Minimum 15 years of post-graduate experience in commercial claims management.
- More than 3 years' experience working in Saudi Arabia.
- At least 3 years' experience within a consultancy setting.
- Exposure to giga-scale building projects.
- Strong knowledge of post-contract claims management with practical application.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Able to quickly understand complex information and evaluate requirements.
- Holding a transferable Iqama is essential.
