Role overview
Gleeds is hiring an Associate Director / Team Leader in Cost Management for a Doha-based assignment in Qatar. The position focuses on pre- and post-contract quantity surveying support for buildings and real estate operations and maintenance, with a strong emphasis on construction and facilities management packages for a major development.
This opportunity is suited to a MRICS-qualified quantity surveying professional who brings strong leadership capability, commercial judgment, and the ability to work in a collaborative and professional environment.
What you will do
- Provide cost management support across both pre-contract and post-contract stages for construction and FM packages.
- Develop and advise on procurement approaches for facilities management activities.
- Oversee commissions and ensure services and deliverables are completed in line with Gleeds procedures.
- Build strong working relationships with clients and support the growth and continuity of those relationships.
- Represent Gleeds as a senior consultant and act on behalf of the company in meetings with senior client stakeholders when needed.
- Handle cost planning and estimating work.
- Carry out value engineering activities.
- Prepare bills of quantities.
- Draft tender documents and manage the full tendering process, including the creation of tender evaluation/marking systems.
- Prepare and present reports for clients.
- Escalate issues to directors quickly when risks or problems arise on projects.
What the role requires
- MRICS chartered status.
- MMUP Grade A.
- Strong technical expertise in both pre-contract and post-contract cost management.
- At least 15 years of post-graduate experience across quantity surveying functions.
- More than 10 years of GCC experience, including work in Qatar.
- At least 5 years of experience on an infrastructure project valued above US$100 million.
- Background in building projects and large mixed-use developments.
- Working knowledge of procurement methods, including tendering and contract strategy.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a relevant engineering degree.
- Fluent English, both spoken and written.
