Job description

Role overview

This opportunity is with a specialist non-bank lender that supports professional services firms and small businesses across Australia with tailored funding solutions. The business is expanding its client-facing sales function and is looking for an experienced originator who can bring in new business while also developing referral and distribution partnerships that create a reliable pipeline.

The position is based in Sydney and supports customers across national markets. It offers autonomy to manage deals from start to finish, with support from a compact and high-performing team.

Key responsibilities

  • Generate and win new business, including shaping proposals and preparing the reasoning required for credit assessment.
  • Strengthen existing markets while developing opportunities in new ones.
  • Align a wide range of funding products with the specific needs of each client.
  • Manage client relationships from the first discussion through to settlement.
  • Develop, maintain, and expand referral and distribution relationships, including platform partners and professional networks.
  • Handle qualified opportunities passed in by the sales development team, alongside self-generated leads.
  • Deliver against agreed new-business targets.

Candidate profile

  • At least 5 years of experience in client-facing roles within business lending, credit, or finance broking.
  • Demonstrated ability to originate opportunities and successfully close them.
  • An existing network of referral or professional-services contacts that can be activated.
  • Strong financial understanding and commercial judgement.
  • A confident, credible communicator who can establish trust quickly with clients and partners.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and comfortable being accountable for performance targets.
  • Resilient and flexible, with the ability to progress work through uncertainty and change.

What’s offered

  • A true sales role with significant autonomy and direct access to decision-makers.
  • A competitive base salary plus performance-based incentives, with strong earning potential for high-performing originators.
  • The chance to make a visible contribution within a small, ambitious team where results are recognised and rewarded.

Application process

Applicants are asked to submit a CV together with a short note explaining why the role is a strong fit. Applications will be handled confidentially, and the employer’s name will be disclosed only to shortlisted candidates.
