Role overview
This opportunity is with a specialist non-bank lender that supports professional services firms and small businesses across Australia with tailored funding solutions. The business is expanding its client-facing sales function and is looking for an experienced originator who can bring in new business while also developing referral and distribution partnerships that create a reliable pipeline.
The position is based in Sydney and supports customers across national markets. It offers autonomy to manage deals from start to finish, with support from a compact and high-performing team.
Key responsibilities
- Generate and win new business, including shaping proposals and preparing the reasoning required for credit assessment.
- Strengthen existing markets while developing opportunities in new ones.
- Align a wide range of funding products with the specific needs of each client.
- Manage client relationships from the first discussion through to settlement.
- Develop, maintain, and expand referral and distribution relationships, including platform partners and professional networks.
- Handle qualified opportunities passed in by the sales development team, alongside self-generated leads.
- Deliver against agreed new-business targets.
Candidate profile
- At least 5 years of experience in client-facing roles within business lending, credit, or finance broking.
- Demonstrated ability to originate opportunities and successfully close them.
- An existing network of referral or professional-services contacts that can be activated.
- Strong financial understanding and commercial judgement.
- A confident, credible communicator who can establish trust quickly with clients and partners.
- Self-motivated, energetic, and comfortable being accountable for performance targets.
- Resilient and flexible, with the ability to progress work through uncertainty and change.
