Role Summary

This position supports the DPW Operations Maintenance Section by performing general labor and maintenance duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general labor tasks typical of municipal public works assignments.
  • Assist in asphalt patching, crack sealing, concrete repairs, playground equipment maintenance, groundskeeping, and similar duties.
  • Contribute to snow removal operations.
  • Clean and wash equipment as necessary.
  • Operate small motorized equipment.
  • Help maintain and care for tools and supplies regularly.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to perform manual labor including lifting and carrying objects weighing over 25 pounds.
  • Possession of a valid Indiana Driver’s License is preferred.

Working Environment

Work is performed indoors and outdoors, subject to various weather conditions. Exposure to noise, dust, dirt, odors, solvents, heights, and confined spaces may occur. Overtime work may occasionally be required.
