Job description

About Snowy Hydro

Snowy Hydro is an integrated energy company that has supported Australia with dependable, on-demand power for decades. Its portfolio includes generation assets such as the Snowy Mountains Scheme, gas and diesel stations, and contracted wind and solar energy. Through its retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy, the company also supplies electricity and gas to around 1.5 million customers.

Role Overview

A full-time Scheduler is required to join the Planning and Performance team within the Operations function, supporting the Kosciuszko and Murray regions. The role focuses on creating and controlling one coordinated schedule for the generation portfolio, ensuring work is prioritised and sequenced effectively across operational needs.

What You Will Do

In this position, you will act as the key coordination point for scheduling across planning, operations, maintenance, project delivery, GenOps, and access teams. Your work will help create a single source of truth for scheduled activities and support better decision-making at portfolio level.

  • Build and keep updated a detailed integrated schedule covering maintenance, projects, overhauls, and unplanned work, making sure items are clearly defined and ready for execution.
  • Set the best timing and order for activities by considering asset availability, outage periods, and resource limitations, while balancing competing priorities to improve overall outcomes.
  • Bring together information from O&M, Project Delivery, GenOps, and Access, and manage dependencies between teams and assets.
  • Rework the schedule quickly when urgent work appears, delays occur, or operating conditions change, while staying aligned with real-time GenOps requirements.
  • Track scheduling performance such as adherence, stability, and conflicts, and use trends to improve planning and scheduling practices across the portfolio.

Location and Work Pattern

The base location for this role is either Jindabyne or Khancoban, and the successful candidate may choose the preferred site. The role covers both the Kosciuszko and Murray regions, so travel between sites will be required. The working pattern is Monday to Friday with flexible arrangements, including at least three days per week in the office or on site and the option to work from home for two days each week, with final details agreed with the successful candidate. Relocation support is available for people moving to Jindabyne or Khancoban.

About You

The ideal candidate will bring experience and confidence in scheduling within an asset-heavy environment, along with strong coordination and problem-solving skills.

  • A trade, technical, or tertiary qualification in areas such as Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven background in planning, scheduling, maintenance, operations, or project delivery in an asset-intensive setting.
  • Good knowledge of scheduling concepts such as dependencies, sequencing, and resource constraints, plus familiarity with tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, POL, Ellipse, or OMS.
  • Strong analytical thinking and the ability to resolve clashes, overlaps, and inefficiencies in schedules.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to interpret work plans and convert them into accurate, workable schedules.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders while adapting to changing priorities.
  • A proactive approach to safety and a collaborative mindset that supports shared goals.
  • Understanding of operational environments and constraints is preferred.
