This position supports sanitation work at the Bluffton, Indiana plant for a growing pretzel manufacturing operation. The role focuses on keeping the facility clean, sanitized, and audit-ready across common areas and processing spaces. Shift details
- Night shift is available.
- Schedule is a 12-hour shift from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.
- Work pattern is 3 to 4 days per week.
- The rotation follows a 2-2-3 pattern: one week Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday; the next week Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday.

Key responsibilities
The job is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing plant common areas or the processing room using methods such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, and trash removal.
- Maintain and restock supply rooms as needed.
- Prepare cleaning chemicals in the correct proportions.
- Use cleaning and material-handling equipment such as hand jacks, manlifts, booms, floor scrubbers, KaiVac systems, and related tools as required.
- Carry out periodic deep-cleaning work based on third-party audit standards and directions from the Sanitation Manager.
- Follow and understand 5S practices.
- Record all cleaning tasks and completed sanitation activities.
- Clean computer stations, control panels, extruder motors and gearboxes, exterior electrical cabinets, electrical lines, containers and carts, ladders, fan filters and vents, walls and floor mats, sink and wash pit areas, mixer platforms, die storage room, pump station, and scales in the processing area.
Minimum qualifications
- Candidates must be at least 18 years old when hired.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- At least one month of related experience or training is needed.
- The ability to read and understand simple instructions is required.
- Candidates must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers and decimals.
Physical requirements and working conditions
- The role is based in a manufacturing environment.
- Employees should be in good physical condition to carry out assigned duties.
- The work requires standing, walking, using hands to finger/handle/feel, reaching with hands and arms, and talking/hearing.
- Standing and walking are frequent.
- Employees must regularly lift or move up to 25 lbs.
- Occasional lifting or moving of up to 50 lbs is required, and the annual lift test must be passed.
- Safety gear may be required or recommended, including eye protection with side shields, hearing protection, and hair/beard nets.
