Job description

Role overview

This position leads APAC supply chain planning across demand planning, distributor management, and supply fulfillment from both company-owned and third-party manufacturing sources. The scope currently covers Southeast Asia, North Asia, ANZ, China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, with the possibility of additional markets being added based on business needs. The region represents more than $150M in topline and roughly 400 SKUs.

The role calls for strong functional expertise, people leadership, and a commercially minded, end-to-end approach. The successful candidate should be comfortable working through details without losing sight of the broader business picture, and should be able to guide teams, peers, and stakeholders across different cultures and levels of seniority.

This is an important APAC leadership role with close collaboration across Sales, Marketing, Finance, distributors, and internal/external manufacturing sites to support growth plans and improve supply chain effectiveness. The position also coordinates with supply chain support teams such as Operations Business Integration, Quality & Regulatory Compliance, Global Trade & Compliance, Global Supply Planning, regional plants, and GBS order-to-cash.

The role owns the IBM process in APAC and partners with country commercial teams to continuously improve that process. It also carries primary responsibility for the forecast in Kinaxis and for improving forecast-related measures such as case fill rate, WMAPE, and DOH/DOS. The incumbent will provide visibility to commercial leaders on purchase order and demand trends, identify gaps, and support decision-making.

In addition, this role manages the supply chain operations of external partners in APAC, including distributors, co-manufacturers, and co-packers, and contributes directly to corporate sales and operating goals.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the IBM cycle and help run the monthly APAC Distributor Demand Review, Consensus, EDR/MBR, and Supply Review meetings.
  • Use available data and systems to identify demand drivers by item and ensure they are reflected in forecasts.
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to assess the impact of competitor actions, retail patterns, and trade or consumer promotion plans on demand assumptions.
  • Review demand plan assumptions and evaluate how timing, incremental volume, total volume, cannibalization, and related initiatives affect the forecast.
  • Carry out both bottom-up and top-down forecast validation.
  • Present forecasts and drive alignment during the monthly IBM process.
  • Implement forecast changes that are approved by the team in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to annual planning and strategic sales planning activities.
  • Identify the causes of forecast variances and communicate findings clearly.
  • Explain forecast performance metrics and results when required.
  • Review and validate service failures linked to inaccurate demand planning.
  • Create and roll out action plans to improve forecast quality and reduce bias.
  • Work across teams such as brand, seasonal consensus, customer relationship, and order fulfillment to strengthen collaboration.
  • Lead collaborative efforts that have a direct impact on the demand plan.
  • Identify and support the rollout of technologies that can improve demand planning effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain item-by-market operational forecasts in Kinaxis.
  • Understand the full information flow across demand and supply planning.
  • Select and apply appropriate demand models to generate forecasts.
  • Manage the collaborative sales forecasting process with distributors, Sales, and Marketing to improve accuracy and support supply communication.
  • Work with manufacturing sites and global demand and supply teams on constrained supply analysis, communication, and APAC market supply follow-up.
  • Prepare pack type and brand-level analysis for customer forecasts and confirm alignment with customer service expectations and retail performance.
  • Analyze historic sales and future plans to continuously improve forecast accuracy.
  • Maintain accountability for supply chain metrics including case fill rate, on-time delivery, WMAPE, and DDD reduction.
  • Participate in cross-functional improvement projects and provide leadership on demand and supply planning initiatives.
  • Use in-country sales run rates, distributor forecast, and inventory data to sanity-check S4 Hana and Kinaxis statistical forecasts.
  • Help optimize distributor warehouse inventory settings so shipment plans can translate into gross sales forecasts.
  • Contribute to improvement projects with APAC distributors in forecasting, supply planning, and inventory management.
  • Assess distributor supply chain capabilities and jointly create improvement plans.
  • Monitor distributor supply chain KPIs such as in-country sales delivery, customer service levels, inventory, and forecast accuracy.
  • Engage support from the Center of Excellence and QRC teams when needed to resolve distributor supply chain challenges.
  • Co-lead the creation, execution, and management of APAC contract manufacturing and packing networks to support growth plans.
  • Evaluate potential co-manufacturers through site visits and desktop assessments.
  • Assess candidate co-manufacturers for sustainable supply capabilities, including planning, procurement, shop floor coordination, and outbound logistics.
  • Review storage suitability, inventory norms, and warehouse material controls.
  • Support cost comparisons between alternative co-manufacturing options.
  • Help finalize recommendations for external supply solutions.
  • Participate in commercial discussions and help shape the operating model for co-manufacturing.
  • Align with commercial teams on the operating model and provide costing inputs for financial evaluation.
  • Work with Procurement on ingredient and packaging supply strategies for selected co-manufacturers.
  • Support contract setup by providing supply chain deliverables and KPIs such as MOQ and production frequency.
  • Coordinate with GBS, Finance, and IS on internal transaction flows and setup requirements.
  • Partner with Customer Supply Chain to transition co-manufacturers or co-packers into the supply network.
  • Drive process simplification by removing non-value-added activities.
  • Identify automation opportunities and collaborate with service providers to implement better workflows.
