Job description
Role overview
The New York Solar Program is hiring a proactive Sales Operations Manager to help expand its residential solar business. This position blends appointment setting, lead nurturing, customer support, and sales operations, with the core goal of turning homeowner interest into qualified appointments for field sales representatives who close solar installation contracts.
Along with pre-sale coordination, the role continues after the contract is signed by guiding customers through follow-up, design updates, communication, and installation-related progress. Because the business is still in a growth stage, the person in this role will also help bring order to processes, strengthen CRM usage, build reporting discipline, and improve overall sales workflow without losing sight of sales output.
The compensation offered is USD 1,200 per month, plus strong performance-based commissions/bonuses and room for growth. With bonuses, monthly earnings can reach USD 2,000.
Key responsibilities
- Reach out to homeowners using cold calls, warm calls, referrals, inbound leads, emails, and messages.
- Evaluate leads and schedule qualified appointments for field sales representatives.
- Confirm appointments, follow up, and rearrange them when needed to keep no-shows low.
- Keep prospects and customers engaged with regular communication throughout the sales cycle.
- Record leads, calls, appointments, follow-ups, and customer progress in the CRM.
- Assist customers after the sale with contract follow-up, solar design updates, paperwork, and installation communications.
- Serve as the communication link between the customer, the sales rep, and the internal team.
- Help define sales processes, follow-up routines, CRM workflows, and customer handoff steps.
- Prepare reports, KPIs, forecasts, and performance summaries covering calls, leads, appointments, follow-ups, and sales outcomes.
- Spot workflow gaps and recommend improvements that make the sales process more structured and scalable.
- Work with tools such as GoHighLevel, Sunbase, Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and AI tools to improve execution, tracking, and reporting.
Requirements
- Advanced English proficiency is required, with a minimum level of C1.
- Previous experience in Sales Operations, Operations Management, Appointment Setting, Customer Success, or a related function.
- Solid background in cold calling, warm calling, lead follow-up, and customer communication.
- Ability to speak to homeowners in a polished, confident, and professional manner.
- Hands-on experience with CRMs such as GoHighLevel, Sunbase, or comparable tools.
- Strong technical ability and good command of Microsoft Office applications.
- Capability to build reports, KPIs, projections, and data-led process improvements.
- Well-organized, self-driven, dependable, and able to operate with minimal oversight.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills.
- Comfortable contributing in a small company where systems and processes are still evolving.
- Reliable high-speed internet is required; Digicel or Starlink is preferred.
- Background in solar, home improvement, construction, roofing, HVAC, real estate, or another homeowner-facing industry is an advantage.
Compensation and growth
The base pay is USD 1,200 per month. In addition, the role offers excellent performance bonuses/commissions and growth potential, with total monthly earnings potentially reaching USD 2,000.
