Job description
Role overview
Everlast Gyms is hiring a Sales & Retention Manager for its Barrow-In-Furness club. This full-time leadership position focuses on growing membership, improving retention, and keeping member movement strong. You will report to the General Manager, lead sales activity, support the broader team, and help ensure that every member has a smooth experience from their very first visit. The role also places you at the centre of sales standards in the club, where you will set the tone, use practical strategies, and build strong connections within the gym and across the local area.
What the role involves
- Lead the FUNDAMENTALS sales approach and coach the team so they can perform effectively.
- Increase new membership sales while also protecting and improving retention among current members.
- Take ownership of the club activity plan and make sure initiatives are organised and delivered well.
- Create and run fresh lead-generation ideas across both internal and external channels.
- Track dashboards and key performance indicators, share useful insights, and help the team stay on target.
- Grow income across memberships, products, and additional spend streams to support profitability.
- Prepare and present monthly sales updates to the management team.
- Develop strong local business relationships and pursue #WeMoveBusinesses opportunities.
- Set the standard on reception and the gym floor in a member-facing capacity.
- Take part in national campaigns such as #WorkoutWednesday and #WeCommunicate.
- Give clear, constructive feedback to colleagues and support their development.
- Assist the General Manager with operational matters, including health and safety, facilities, maintenance, hiring, and presentation standards.
What you should bring
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about health, fitness, and wellbeing, and who can lead and motivate others confidently. A strong track record in sales and retention is important, along with a results-focused attitude. You should be able to communicate clearly, work well with different people, and adjust your approach depending on the audience. The ideal candidate stays positive, remains calm under pressure, and finds practical solutions. Ambition and a desire to grow into more senior leadership responsibilities are also key. Flexibility is required, including availability for evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
Benefits and rewards
- Complimentary gym membership.
- 20% discount across all Frasers Group brands.
- Eligibility for the Fearless 1000 Bonus Scheme.
- Monthly Frasers Champion awards, with winners receiving double pay for that month.
- Recognition through Everlast Gyms Monthly Champions.
- Access to training and employer-funded qualifications, including Level 3 and Level 5 in Management & Leadership.
- Opportunities to build fitness knowledge through product training, with the chance to deliver PT and group training sessions.
