General Assistant (Cleaning Team)

About the Role

Clean, safe facilities are essential to that experience, so this role is central to keeping the site welcoming and hygienic.

As a General Assistant on the cleaning team, you will help maintain high standards of cleanliness across the gym. Your work will support a safe, pleasant space for members, from workout areas to changing rooms. This position is for 20 hours each week and suits someone who is careful, dependable, and motivated by contributing to a better member experience.

Key Duties

• Clean all assigned areas thoroughly, including gym flooring, exercise equipment, studios, locker rooms, showers, and shared spaces.
• Disinfect and sanitise surfaces to help maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
• Remove waste, replace bin liners, and follow proper disposal processes.
• Keep an eye on cleaning stock, refill supplies where needed, and inform management when items are running low.
• Work cooperatively with the wider gym team to support a smooth member journey.
• Escalate any maintenance or repair issues without delay.
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety standards expected across the gym at all times.

What We’re Looking For

• Prior experience in cleaning or janitorial work is useful, though not required, as training will be provided.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work on your own.
• Understanding of cleaning methods, sanitisation, and safe handling of cleaning chemicals, with training available if needed.
• Good organisational ability and the skill to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Clear communication and a team-oriented approach.
• Availability for evening and weekend shifts to match gym operating hours.

Working Pattern

This is a part-time, on-site position with a weekly commitment of 20 hours.
