Job description
About Swiggy
Swiggy is a technology-led, on-demand delivery platform focused on logistics and customer convenience. The company operates in 500+ cities across India, works with hundreds of thousands of restaurants, employs more than 5000 people, and supports a fleet of over 2 lakh independent delivery executives. Since launching as a hyperlocal food delivery service in 2014, it has grown into a broader convenience platform known for fast, reliable service and a strong employee experience.
Ways of Working
This is a mandate-3 role, which means employees must be based in their designated posting location or office base location.
Role Overview
The Sales Manager is responsible for acquiring and engaging single-outlet independent restaurants within an assigned city. In this role, you act as the main contact for restaurant partners, learn how their businesses operate, understand their challenges, and build partnerships that help improve orders, visibility, and customer engagement. The position is highly consultative and field-based, and it is suited to someone who is adaptable, resourceful, and motivated by partner success.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a defined territory and develop strong working relationships with the restaurant partners in that area.
- Carry out field visits, product demonstrations, and ROI discussions to explain how Swiggy can create value for restaurant partners.
- Use a consultative sales approach by asking about current sales channels, delivery operations, marketing spend, and business objectives, then tailoring Swiggy’s offering as a solution.
- Handle the complete monthly relationship cycle, including pitching, negotiation, onboarding or activation, and continuous support.
- Monitor adoption data, identify reasons for weak growth, resolve issues, and make course corrections as needed.
- Take ownership of revenue targets in the assigned territory and actively track pipeline progress and conversion performance.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of Excel, Google Sheets, and WSP for city and central tracker management.
- Study restaurant trends, competitors, and local market changes, and share field insights that can influence product direction.
- Complete around 80 to 90 in-person meetings with restaurant partners every month.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should have 0 to 2 years of experience in B2B sales, field sales, or business development, with preference for candidates from FMCG, food and beverage, or hotel-related industries. A history of meeting or surpassing targets and independently managing a sales pipeline is important. Since restaurant business operates all day and night, the selected candidate must be ready to take full ownership of the assigned partner portfolio. Strong comfort with data tools is essential, including the ability to create pivot tables, use VLOOKUP, and build dashboards without support. A postgraduate background, preferably in marketing or sales, is preferred.
Equal Opportunity Statement
Swiggy states that it is an equal opportunity employer and considers all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, disability status, or any other protected characteristic under applicable law.
