Role overview
This position blends techno-commercial sales with complete export operations. The role involves managing domestic business execution as well as international order handling, documentation, compliance, and cross-functional coordination.
What you will do
- Build and maintain working relationships with customers across domestic and international markets.
- Manage the full order journey, including sales order creation, execution, and dispatch coordination.
- Ensure sales orders are issued on time and tracked through completion.
- Coordinate dispatch planning with the logistics team.
- Track receivables and follow up with customers on outstanding payments.
- Work toward sales targets while protecting healthy margins.
- Serve as the primary link between customers and internal teams such as logistics, finance, and production.
- Work with overseas customers and partners to support smooth execution and long-term relationship building.
- Contribute to export revenue growth by spotting new markets, customers, and business channels.
- Support international business development through market feedback and active customer engagement.
- Manage the export process from order finalization through shipment completion.
- Prepare and review pre-shipment documents such as invoice, packing list, LC draft, BL instructions, COO, and related paperwork.
- Oversee post-shipment work, including document negotiation, bank submission, and resolution of discrepancies.
- Ensure adherence to DGFT, FEMA, and other international trade rules and procedures.
- Monitor shipment progress and make sure delivery and documentation are closed on time.
- Handle letter of credit terms, payment protection requirements, and documentation accuracy.
- Track and claim export incentives such as RoDTEP and Duty Drawback.
Desired profile
- Educational background of B.Tech or MBA from a reputed institute.
- 6 to 8 years of experience in sales and exports, preferably in steel or metals.
- Practical exposure to export documentation, letter of credit handling, and international trade workflows.
- Working knowledge of shipping terms, export compliance, and banking processes.
- Strong analytical ability, coordination skills, and communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
