Overview
Join the RAC as a Roadside Technician, delivering expert mechanical breakdown repairs and diagnostics to customers in the Reading and Oxford areas. This full-time role involves working nights within local clusters including Reading, Wokingham, Bracknell, Henley-on-Thames, Crowthorne, Sandhurst, Oxford, Abingdon, Didcot, Wantage, Witney, Bicester, and Thame. Starting and ending each day at home, you will focus your efforts on repairing and assisting vehicles on the roadside, helping members get back on the road efficiently.
Key Duties
- Provide mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown assistance across the UK.
- Handle a variety of breakdown scenarios such as flat batteries, tyre changes, and complex fault finding.
- Deliver rapid, confident solutions combined with excellent customer service during roadside calls.
- Operate using RAC-provided van, fuel card, tools, uniform, and diagnostic equipment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Possess either an NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance with at least 2 years experience, or have 5+ years of experience as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic.
- Hold a full UK driving licence with less than 6 penalty points.

- Earn a competitive annual base salary of £42,921.87 including night allowance, with on-target earnings ranging between £43,000 and £53,000.
