Job Purpose
This role is accountable for integrating and consolidating risks across operational subsidiaries and enablers at a systemic operational level. The Manager – Operations Risk develops dashboards and risk registers covering both hospitality and non-hospitality subsidiaries, assets, activities, and enablers, as well as the broader Operations Risk Profile.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to defining objectives, strategies, and plans while tracking their progress.
- Oversee daily operations management, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures, and suggest improvements.
- Assist in planning and managing financial and human resources, including budgeting, and mentor staff to enhance their performance.
- Support the creation and upkeep of Operations Risk Management policies, processes, and procedures consistent with ISO 31000, ensuring alignment across operational areas.
- Implement approved operational risk plans after authorization from the Associate Operations Risk Director.
- Supervise execution of agreed mitigation strategies.
- Provide comprehensive risk insights for key operational mega processes.
- Prepare and maintain a systemic operations risk profile and serve as Secretary of the Operations Risk Panel (ORP).
- Validate all identified operational asset risks and ensure material risks are aggregated and escalated appropriately.
- Coordinate with Corporate, Project Delivery, and Development risk teams for effective risk transfers along the value chain.
- Engage Operations teams in discussions about risks that could lead to losses or missed opportunities.
- Lead and facilitate risk assessment workshops and meetings.
- Work with risk owners to develop risk treatment plans.
- Evaluate consolidated risk treatment approaches to identify enterprise-level improvement opportunities.
- Prepare and distribute risk dashboards and reports.
- Monitor compliance and efficacy of risk management processes and report outcomes.
- Track progress and effectiveness of operational risk treatment plans and strategies.
- Identify and address risk training requirements.
- Design and deliver training to Risk Champions to enhance risk awareness.
- Recommend communication materials to promote risk awareness within the business.
- Share expertise and best practices related to risk management with the Enterprise Risk Management function.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Professional certification in Risk Management or Risk Assurance from recognized international bodies such as IRM or IIA.
- 7 to 10 years of experience in Enterprise Risk Management and/or Risk-based Internal Audit.
- At least 3 years of experience working for a consulting firm (e.g., EY, Deloitte, PwC).
- Proficiency with Enterprise Risk Management frameworks, specifically ISO 31000 or COSO ERM.
- Excellent command of verbal and written English.
- Experience conducting risk assessments for operational subsidiaries, activities, and enablers.
