Job description

About the role

Wren Kitchens is seeking a Retail Sales Designer for its Exeter showroom. In this position, you will welcome customers, create inspiring kitchen and bedroom layouts, and guide each sale from the first conversation through to completion.

The role is based on 40 hours per week and includes a basic salary of £26,440, along with uncapped commission and an on-target earnings figure of £50,000.

Benefits and training

  • Comprehensive product, systems, and sales training, including one week of residential training at the Academy in Barton-upon-Humber
  • No cap on commission earnings
  • Commission continues to be paid while on annual leave
  • Eye care vouchers
  • EE discount
  • Refer-a-friend reward scheme
  • Strong company-wide progression opportunities
  • Staff discount available after one year of service

Key responsibilities

  • Present creative kitchen and bedroom design ideas that help turn interest into sales
  • Recommend extra products and services, including finance options and installation
  • Respond to customer enquiries promptly
  • Deliver a consistently excellent customer experience from beginning to end
  • Keep the order bank accurate and current while maintaining regular contact with customers

About you

You should bring a proactive, target-oriented attitude. Previous retail experience in a role focused on sales targets is helpful, though design experience in kitchens or bedrooms is not required. A creative eye, attention to detail, and a strong focus on customer satisfaction are important. You also need to be available for shifts that may include evenings and weekends.

Additional requirements

Successful applicants will need to complete a basic criminal record check through the Disclosure & Barring Service before employment is confirmed. A criminal record will not automatically rule out a candidate; each case will be considered individually based on the nature of the offence and its relevance to the role.

Wren is known for its focus on kitchens and bedrooms and is the largest kitchen retailer in the UK. The business offers a dynamic workplace, extensive training, and opportunities to build a long-term career. It has twice been recognised as the UK’s Number 1 Place to Work on Indeed.
