Position Overview
We are searching for an accomplished Retail Manager to spearhead a vital section of our Tauranga store. This role demands a hands-on leader who thrives on being actively engaged on the floor, empowering their team, resolving challenges, and ensuring seamless operation in a dynamic retail environment. Prior leadership experience in a large-format ("big box") retail setting is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-achieving retail team.
- Establish a customer-centric atmosphere that delivers exceptional shopping experiences.
- Drive performance to meet sales, profit margin, and productivity objectives.
- Oversee excellent merchandising, stock management, and presentation of the department.
- Schedule and organize daily and weekly operational activities.
- Handle rostering, hiring, training, and performance oversight.
- Collaborate closely with broader leadership teams to fulfill store targets.
- Promote health and safety practices across departments.
- Build and maintain a culture emphasizing accountability, teamwork, and ongoing improvement.
Candidate Profile
- Established leadership background within large-sized retail operations.
- Experienced in managing medium to large teams successfully.
- Strong commercial insight with a proven record of delivering on key results.
- Familiarity with stock control, merchandising, and operational management.
- Skilled in rostering, recruiting, managing performance, and team development.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and coaching abilities.
- Capable of quick thinking and maintaining composure under pressure.

Employment Details
