Role overview
Zaxbys is looking for a Restaurant Utility Worker to help keep the restaurant clean, safe, and running smoothly. This position supports the upkeep of both the building and equipment through routine cleaning, deep-cleaning tasks, and preventive maintenance.

What you'll do
- Complete all training required by Zax LLC.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and well-kept restaurant environment.
- Carry out both scheduled and unscheduled cleaning and basic maintenance work.
- Perform routine cleaning and preventive upkeep on restaurant equipment.
- Check, run, or test equipment to identify any issues.
- Handle minor lighting repairs.
- Do deep-cleaning work, including pressure washing inside and outside the location.
- Read and understand equipment manuals, work orders, safety rules, and operating instructions.
- Inspect grounds, plumbing, electrical fixtures, outlets, kitchen equipment, and the building for preventive maintenance needs.
- Make simple repairs when needed.
- Keep maintenance logs accurate, organized, and current.
- Follow all company guidelines, policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Maintain a flexible attitude and take on additional duties as needed to keep restaurant operations working properly.
- Report human resources or risk management concerns right away to the General Manager and District Manager.
- Escalate other issues to a supervisor when appropriate.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- For full-time availability, the role requires 32 to 40 hours per week.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Should have leadership qualities, strong organization, and the ability to work well with others.
Physical and work conditions
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods.
- Must be able to stoop, bend, crouch, climb, and use ladders at times.
- Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying of up to 50 pounds, including overhead lifting.
- Continuous hand and wrist use for grasping and precise movements.
- Must be able to communicate effectively through speaking, reading, and writing.
- Need to maintain strong visual and auditory awareness to respond to the surroundings.
- Work takes place in both indoor and outdoor environments with hot and cold temperature changes and possible exposure to food and outdoor allergens.
- Must be able to work safely around restaurant equipment such as knives, fryers, and other potentially hazardous tools.
