Job description
Role overview
This full-time reservations role is based in Dubai Marina, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and sits within the Reservations function. It is a non-management position with on-site work only.
What you will do
You will handle incoming room booking requests, modifications, and cancellations received by phone, fax, or email. The role involves identifying guest needs, matching them to the right room type, checking room and rate availability, and clearly explaining guarantee rules, special pricing, and cancellation conditions. You will also capture and track special requests, answer questions about hotel facilities, services, and accommodations, and use sales techniques to help maximize revenue.
In addition, you will enter and retrieve information in the reservation system, accurately process special reservation types such as complimentary rooms, employee discounts, travel agency inspection rates, and wholesale bookings, and follow escalation procedures when guest concerns arise. You are expected to deliver professional service, recognize guests warmly, support guests with disabilities, communicate clearly over the phone, and cooperate closely with teammates to achieve shared goals.
Standards and expectations
The position requires adherence to company policies and procedures, a neat and professional appearance, protection of confidential information, and care for company assets as well as guest and colleague privacy and safety. You will also be expected to meet quality assurance standards, respond appropriately to colleague concerns, and complete other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
Physical requirements
The role includes the ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.
Education and experience
A secondary school diploma or an equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate is preferred. No prior job-related experience is required, and no supervisory experience is needed.
