Based in Hounslow with a hybrid work model. The role operates Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

Overview
The Recruitment Manager is responsible for leading and managing ABM UKI's recruitment function. This includes overseeing the recruitment and talent acquisition teams to ensure the organization access high-quality candidates across frontline, operational, and management roles. The role involves centralizing recruitment activities and personnel under one reporting framework to establish clear governance and create a service-driven recruitment process aligned with business priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the recruitment team to build a high-performance, service-focused function.
- Consolidate recruitment efforts across ABM UKI into a unified reporting structure with defined roles and governance.
- Design and implement a standardized recruitment process covering workforce planning, requisition approval, offer management, onboarding, and post-hire reviews.
- Build strong partnerships with senior leaders, HR business partners, and hiring managers to improve recruitment outcomes.
- Manage recruitment for specialized functions such as Sales, Marketing, Technology, HR, Finance, and QHSE.
- Oversee recruitment operations across frontline, staff, and management positions, tailoring approaches based on role, location, and service line.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to forecast workforce needs and develop recruitment plans accordingly.
- Introduce consistent recruitment KPIs, service levels, and reporting to monitor demand, vacancy status, time-to-fill, quality, and candidate experience.
- Standardize recruitment steps including briefing, attraction, screening, interviewing, feedback, and offer management.
- Identify and implement improvements in recruitment processes to eliminate duplication, reduce delays, and enhance candidate and hiring manager experience.
- Develop talent pipelines for critical and recurring openings, including high-volume frontline roles and specialist positions.
- Create recruitment strategies for challenging vacancies, leveraging market insights on channels, salary benchmarks, candidate availability, and timelines.
- Ensure recruitment supports diversity, inclusion, environmental, social, and governance priorities by broadening talent access and promoting inclusive selection practices.
- Maintain compliance with employment laws, right-to-work verification, client requirements, and sector-specific vetting, especially in regulated environments like aviation and security-sensitive sites.
- Utilize recruitment systems, AI tools, data analysis, and reporting to enhance recruitment performance and decision-making.
- Provide senior leadership with regular insights on recruitment trends, risks, workforce demands, skill gaps, and improvement opportunities.
- Optimize recruitment channels, direct sourcing methods, job advertising, social media presence, and employer branding to boost recruitment reach and quality.
- Manage relationships with external recruitment agencies ensuring cost control, quality standards, and alignment with preferred suppliers.
- Coordinate with Finance, Procurement, and HR teams to align recruitment activities with budgets, headcount controls, and business goals.
- Lead recruitment transformation initiatives involving process redesign, stakeholder communication, and adoption across decentralized operations.
- Champion a professional, candidate-focused recruitment approach that reflects ABM’s values and strengthens its employer brand.
- Identify skill gaps within the recruitment team and implement training, coaching, and tools to enhance capability and business partnering.
- Serve as a recruitment subject matter expert providing guidance and challenges to leaders across ABM UK.
Requirements
- Extensive experience leading recruitment or talent acquisition teams in complex, multi-location, or decentralized organizations.
- Proven success designing or improving end-to-end recruitment processes and establishing standardized operation methods.
- Experienced in recruiting high-volume frontline roles as well as professional, management, and head office positions.
- Background recruiting or managing recruitment for departments including Sales, Marketing, Technology, HR, Finance, and QHSE.
- Strong ability to implement business partnering recruitment models and influence senior leaders in matrix structures.
- Knowledge of operational environments such as facilities management, aviation, transport, security, cleaning, or engineering is highly favored.
- Solid understanding of recruitment best practices, candidate attraction, selection techniques, engagement, and enhancing hiring manager experience.
- Competence in measuring recruitment performance with data, KPIs, service level agreements, and insight-driven reporting.
- Proven ability to lead change, standardize processes, and promote adoption across multiple teams and regions.
- Commercial acumen managing recruitment expenditures, agency use, direct sourcing, and supplier performance.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and coaching skills to develop recruitment teams and improve effectiveness.
- Sound knowledge of UK employment law, right-to-work regulations, and recruitment compliance; understanding aviation or client-specific vetting processes is a plus.
