Job description

Position Overview

  • The QMS Engineer is tasked with maintaining and enhancing the quality management system to guarantee adherence to industry standards and satisfy customer demands.
  • Collaboration with various departments is essential for resolving quality issues, conducting root cause analyses, and applying corrective measures.
  • Responsibilities include management of ISO certifications, facilitating internal and client audits, and promoting ongoing improvements throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations ensuring compliance with ISO 9000 and QC080000 standards.
  • Coordinate with external bodies for ISO certification processes.
  • Lead UL safety audits and manage daily compliance tasks.
  • Review Engineering Change Requests/Orders and confirm closure of actions.
  • Organize weekly meetings for tracking Engineering Change Order statuses.
  • Address and resolve nonconformance issues promptly.
  • Conduct and implement internal audits and management review meetings, ensuring corrective actions are completed.
  • Support actions relevant to Supplier Corrective Action Requests and 8D problem-solving audits.
  • Administer Quality Process Audits and client audit activities.
  • Supervise line qualification processes and support on-site customer audits.
  • Perform Electrostatic Discharge internal audits and manage third-party certification efforts.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years' experience in product engineering encompassing design, development, testing, and manufacturing.
  • At least two years of experience leading teams or supervisory roles.
  • Deep understanding of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and pertinent quality standards.
  • Proficiency with statistical tools like Minitab and quality management software.
  • Strong analytical skills for diagnosing complex issues and developing solutions.
  • Capability in analyzing data trends to support decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills and leadership aptitude to drive cross-team quality initiatives.
  • Project management skills to handle multiple priorities efficiently within deadlines.
  • Experience working in a multicultural setting with English as the primary language.
  • Meticulous with a dedication to continuous improvement and compliance excellence.

Preferred Skills and Certifications

  • Certified Quality Engineer or ISO Lead Auditor credentials preferred.
  • Familiarity with UL safety standards and Electrostatic Discharge compliance.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies is advantageous.

Work Environment

  • Work will be split between office and production floor settings.
  • Physical requirements include standing, walking during audits, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Some travel may be necessary for audits and certifications.
  • Exposure to manufacturing noise and machinery; personal protective equipment is provided.
