Role overview
The Quality Assurance Manager oversees the SAAMS quality system, including the preparation, update, and maintenance of manuals and procedures. This role also serves as the main quality liaison between the RSAF and SAAMS as the Customer Support Team (CST) representative for all matters connected to the maintenance organisation.
The position must be performed in line with the current Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE), customer requirements, and the company’s quality and safety policies and procedures.
What you will do
- Guide and support the customer throughout A330 MRTT fleet maintenance by continuously monitoring activities and ensuring compliance with RSAF processes and international aviation standards.
- Protect the integrity of the quality system by ensuring alignment with applicable regulations, authorities, and airworthiness standards, including SAMI-Airbus, EASA, RSAF, FAA, GACA, and AS 9110.
- Help build, refine, review, and implement the requirements needed for SAAMS to obtain Aerospace Standard AS 9110 certification.
- Assist with internal reviews and investigations related to reported events and incidents.
- Support internal and external audits under the annual audit plan and oversee the completion of corrective actions.
- Conduct physical inspections and spot checks to confirm that the QMS is being followed.
- Monitor, advise, and inspect technicians during maintenance work.
- Track discrepancies in maintenance work and follow up on corrective actions.
- Oversee MRO subcontractors and their compliance.
- Support the continued development and improvement of MRO processes and procedures, including the MOE, CAME, and internal documentation.
- Assist the Head of Quality and Safety in tracking and maintaining department KPIs.
- Represent the Quality CST in coordination with RSAF authorities.
Required profile
- University or college diploma, preferably in aeronautical studies or quality systems.
- Working knowledge of aircraft maintenance, inspection methods, and aircraft systems such as airframe, avionics, hydraulics, mechanics, electrics, aerodynamics, and electronics used in fixed-wing aircraft.
- Strong professional English skills, both spoken and written.
- Advanced understanding of aeronautical quality assurance standards, including auditor training.
- Training in root cause analysis.
- Awareness of ISO / AS9110 standards, EN/AS 9100, Part 65/66, Part 145, Part M/CAMO, and an understanding of Part 21 in maintenance environments.
- Knowledge of aviation regulations from EASA, FAA, or GACA.
- Familiarity with EASA Part 145 / M / CAMO requirements.
- Working understanding of organisational procedures such as the MOE, CAME, and related internal procedures.
- Completion of mandatory regulatory courses such as Human Factors, Hazmat, Fuel Tank Safety, EWIS, SUP, and ESDS.
- Aircraft type familiarisation training.
- Experience in auditing and/or applying Safety Management Systems, including investigations and root cause analysis, with a focus on building a positive safety culture.
- Practical knowledge of safety, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance in base and line maintenance operations.
- Ability to use technical publications relevant to the role.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
