Role Overview
We invite a qualified Locomotive Driver to join our Broken Hill, New South Wales team. You will be responsible for preparing, managing, and operating locomotives and trains safely in line with your competencies, safety qualifications, and Pacific National's operational procedures to fulfill customer and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal teams to achieve the 'Delivered In-Full On-Time' (DIFOT) targets.
- Support company safety objectives proactively.
- Perform locomotive provisioning, preparation, and pre-operation safety inspections including testing control systems and safety equipment.
- Accurately complete all documentation and compliance records related to train operations.
- Conduct train and locomotive inspections and prepare trains safely for services.
- Adopt and display Pacific National’s core values: safety, accountability, integrity, and teamwork.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrable experience as a qualified locomotive driver.
- Current route and safe-working qualifications are highly favorable.
- Certification: Certificate IV in Train Driving (must be provided with application).
- Strong dedication to safety and compliance standards.
- Experience in conducting locomotive inspections, train preparation, and operational safety checks.
- Team-oriented with a positive and supportive attitude.
- Basic proficiency in computer usage.
- Customer-focused mindset with a drive for continuous process improvement.
- Holding an unrestricted motor vehicle license.
- Willingness and flexibility to work on a 24/7 rotational schedule.
