Job description

About the role

We are looking for a Quality Specialist to join the Abu Dhabi team. The role focuses on coordinating and managing the daily deployment, upkeep, and delivery of Quality and HSSE compliance programs at the EthosEnergy Abu Dhabi facility.

What you will do

  • Lead the QC team in daily workshop operations and provide technical support at site when needed.
  • Arrange equipment calibration, maintain the equipment register, and coordinate in-house calibration work in the workshop.
  • Oversee welding operations, including the preparation and maintenance of WPS, PQR, and WPQ in line with ASME IX, API 6A, and API 16A requirements.
  • Inspect welding joints and manage welder re-validation on a bi-annual basis.
  • Review quality records, procedures, pressure test certificates, GA drawings, final documentation, and related files each day, then issue Certificates of Conformance/Compliance for completed jobs.
  • Prepare Project Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Guide the inspection team on repair and rework recommendations for wellhead and drill-through equipment such as BOPs, drilling spools, Christmas trees, API 6A/16A/16C/5CT/7-1 products, studded blocks, crossovers, pipes, and pup joints.
  • Escalate non-conformances to senior leadership and support the Quality Manager in root cause analysis and corrective action closure for non-conforming jobs.
  • Support API Q1 and ISO audits, as well as system audits for the business unit.
  • Carry out NDT activities including RT, UT, MPT, PT, and PMI.
  • Prepare, maintain, and review method statements for routine and non-routine jobs.
  • Compile day-to-day quality activity reports and quality packages covering NDE, hardness, pressure tests, heat treatment, PWHT, and inspection reports.
  • Raise purchase requests in the iFlight system for all QC-related activities.
  • Help roll out quality strategy, policies, procedures, and improvement initiatives aligned with EthosEnergy quality standards and annual improvement plans.
  • Support business leaders, facility managers, and project managers in setting annual site goals and performance objectives.
  • Support quality execution across the Middle East region and ensure mobilization plans meet EthosEnergy HSSE requirements, customer expectations, and local regulatory obligations.
  • Ensure compliance with the EE Security Risk Management procedure across the Middle East region.
  • Act as the Management Representative for Service Excellence and the Quality Management System across Middle East operations.
  • Lead the management team in data-driven process improvements aimed at improving customer loyalty and supporting business growth.
  • Serve as a Service Excellence subject matter expert and coach managers, employees, process owners, and improvement teams.
  • Drive actions that reduce the chance of nonconformities and help build awareness of customer requirements across the organization.
  • Support quality planning, document control, and preparation of monthly QMS reports.
  • Conduct periodic quality system audits across business units in the region.
  • Support supplier evaluation and re-evaluation processes.
  • Lead API-related projects for new Monogram applications, including product/process review and design pack preparation.
  • Help maintain compliance with API standards and specifications related to product quality.

Required skills and knowledge

  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and API Q1, API Q2, API 6A, API 16A, API 16C, API 5CT, and API 7-1.
  • Practical knowledge of root cause analysis and related problem-solving tools.
  • Proven indirect leadership and team coordination ability.
  • Ability to identify quality issues early and escalate them appropriately.
  • Good awareness of operational hazards and controls.
  • Solid grasp of international quality standards.
  • Ability to train employees on quality-related topics.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Customer-oriented mindset.
  • Strong written and spoken communication across all levels.
  • Able to perform well in a diverse and fast-changing environment.
  • Good facilitation and active listening skills.
  • Accountable and able to take ownership of programs and outcomes.
  • Capable of carrying out risk assessments and suggesting improvements.

Experience

  • Previous experience in business management or leadership.
  • Hands-on experience managing management systems aligned with ISO 9001:2015, API Spec Q1, and API Spec Q2.
  • Direct experience with API 6A, 16A, 5CT, 16C, and 7-1 products.
  • Demonstrated success in driving process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience using change management tools to influence organizational culture.
  • Background in leading internal and external audit teams.
  • Working knowledge of operational hazards and control measures.

Education and other requirements

  • Must be a qualified internal auditor for QHSE standards.
  • A diploma in OH&S is preferred.
  • The candidate must already have, or be able to secure, a valid passport and work visas for the countries where the business operates.

Physical and travel requirements

  • Light physical effort is needed.
  • The role requires enough physical ability to work in an office environment and use office equipment.
  • International travel is required.
