Job description

Role Overview

The Public Relation Officer is tasked with managing mortgage-related formalities and documentation coordination between the bank and external government authorities including the Ministry of Housing, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and Muscat Clearing & Depository. The incumbent supports legal and commercial mortgage setup for corporate, SME, and Islamic banking clientele, while ensuring proper documentation handling and compliance adherence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage legal mortgage creation processes at the Ministry of Housing for Corporate and SME clients, covering both Conventional and Islamic banking.
  • Facilitate commercial mortgage registrations at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and ensure the bank's name is correctly updated in company commercial records.
  • Collect original Mulkiyas, Ministry of Housing receipts, and mortgage agreements from the relevant authorities and internal branches.
  • Deliver share pledge letters to Muscat Depository and follow up on their confirmations.
  • Oversee completion of mortgage processing and compliance across Ministry of Housing and Ministry of Commerce and Industry requirements.
  • Engage with government agencies and regulators for documentation or clarifications as needed.
  • Provide backup assistance to Retail mortgage operations during staff absences.
  • Support mortgage file organization, tracking, and physical transfer between branches or locations.
  • Ensure timely filing, scanning, and secure safekeeping of mortgage-related documents in line with internal policies.
  • Promote process improvements and automation initiatives targeting efficiency and digitalization.
  • Ensure thorough compliance with banking policies, governmental regulations, and industry standards in daily operations.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development, knowledge sharing, and supporting colleagues in continuous learning.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Must be an Omani national.
  • Possess at least a Diploma in Business Administration or a related discipline; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Have a minimum of five years’ experience in banking operations, particularly involving retail and corporate loan documentation processes.
