Job description
Overview
This opportunity is for a project planner with solid commercial experience in infrastructure or utilities, who wants to build a long-term career on large, complex programmes. The position offers real responsibility, visibility and room to progress within a consultancy environment.
The employer is a fast-growing digital consultancy working on major infrastructure assignments, with a strong emphasis on the digital solutions and technology they create to improve project controls in regulated sectors.
Role summary
You will be part of a complex infrastructure programme, supporting planning activities across several workstreams. Working alongside the wider planning and project controls team, you will help keep schedules accurate, ensure risks and dependencies are properly captured, and give stakeholders a clear picture of delivery status.
This is a hybrid role, with time split between site-based work in Manchester and remote working. The source also mentions an on-site presence in Nottingham in one place, so the location details should be treated as hybrid with multiple site references.
What you will do
- Maintain and update programme schedules across multiple workstreams.
- Support planning governance, standards and reporting routines.
- Make sure programme changes, risks and dependencies are reflected in the plan.
- Assist with scenario planning and review of schedules.
- Prepare planning updates and progress reports for teams and stakeholders.
- Work in a hybrid setup with three days per week on site.
What the employer is looking for
The ideal applicant will come from a planning background in infrastructure or utilities and be comfortable working on complex programmes. Strong hands-on experience with Primavera P6 is important, along with the ability to communicate clearly with project teams and stakeholders.
You must also be eligible for UK security clearance and meet nationality requirements because of the sensitivity of the programme.
Package and progression
The role offers a salary dependent on experience, plus training, development opportunities, pension and life insurance. It is presented as a strong move for someone who wants broader exposure to major infrastructure work while growing their career in project controls.
Terms and additional information
The role requires BPSS clearance eligibility. The advertised pay range is the range available for the post, and the final salary will depend on experience, qualifications and skill set, as determined by the employer.
The company states that it is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all suitable candidates.
