Role overview
ABC News’ prime-time news magazine, 20/20, is seeking a Production Associate to support long-form editorial production across all stages of the workflow.
What you’ll do
This role partners closely with producers and editors to keep projects moving efficiently. The position includes research, sourcing materials, media organization, coordinating production logistics, and arranging shoots. You will also help manage editorial materials under tight deadlines and apply structured systems to keep production work organized.
Core qualifications
- Strong organizational and administrative ability, with a very high level of attention to detail
- Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with demanding deadlines; resourceful, creative, collaborative, and proactive
- Self-driven approach with the ability to anticipate needs and take initiative
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Working understanding of production tools and technology used in both pre-production and post-production
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and shift quickly as priorities or field conditions change
- Solid familiarity with archival and digital sources for video and still imagery
Preferred background
- Prior experience in news or documentary production
- Basic exposure to non-linear editing tools such as Avid or Adobe
- Experience working with courts, law enforcement contacts, and legal records or documentation
- Knowledge of archival and digital resource workflows
- Awareness of ABC News programming and platforms, along with the broader streaming environment
Education
A bachelor’s degree is required.
Compensation and benefits
The expected pay range for this role in New York is $56,600 to $75,900 per year. The final offer may vary based on internal equity, the candidate’s location, job-related knowledge, skills, and overall experience. The package may also include a bonus and/or long-term incentive units, along with the company’s medical, financial, and other benefits, depending on the level and position offered.
