Job description

Role overview

This position supports the EVP of Content at National Geographic Content. The EVP leads content efforts across television, editorial, and social platforms, while coordinating with teams based in Washington, DC, New York, Los Angeles, and London.

Core responsibilities

  • Handle a highly complex calendar across internal and external meetings, along with related communications.
  • Arrange business travel and prepare detailed itineraries.
  • Build presentation materials, reports, and analysis documents for leaders at NG Content and Disney on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
  • Prepare business expenses in Concur/SAP through the travel proxy process on time, and verify that direct reports’ expenses are coded correctly.
  • Take on additional administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience in a media company or a similar environment in an executive assistant capacity, including exposure to C-suite and chief executive EAs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, plus strong written and verbal communication ability; diplomacy is important when handling demanding assignments.
  • High level of discretion, sound independent judgment, and strong organization to juggle multiple urgent tasks under pressure.
  • Ability to stay ahead of executive needs, keep office processes running smoothly, and interact professionally with a wide range of personalities.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to supporting colleagues across the department.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, including meeting coordination and calendar management, with the flexibility to learn internal tools quickly.
  • Comfort with new technology, workflows, applications, and systems, along with strong attention to detail, multitasking ability, time management, initiative, and self-motivation.

Compensation

For Washington, D.C., the stated salary range is $65,272 to $87,560 per year, based on a 40-hour workweek. Scheduled hours may shift depending on business requirements. Final pay may also reflect internal pay alignment, the candidate’s location, job-related expertise, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, the package may include a bonus and/or long-term incentive units, plus a broad set of medical, financial, and other benefits depending on the role level.
