Job description
Role overview
This role sits at the center of payment product execution for retail and corporate transfers within digital banking. You will own the payments product roadmap, guide delivery from early concept through launch, and continuously improve the product after release.
Key responsibilities
- Own the payment product function for retail and corporate transfer flows.
- Drive the full product lifecycle for retail and corporate payment offerings, including ideation, solution design, technical build, testing, deployment, and post-launch enhancements.
- Run product discovery sessions, collect requirements, and steer development with cross-functional squads.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for payments, keeping up with market developments, regulatory updates such as ISO 20022, and competitor capabilities.
- Work closely with design, engineering, QA, and data teams to deliver solutions that are reliable, scalable, and high performing.
- Make sure the product complies with regulatory and security requirements.
- Set expectations with stakeholders, manage timelines, create project plans, monitor progress, and proactively handle project risks.
- Act as the main contact point across functions such as operations, finance, business, AML, and compliance.
- Define and monitor product KPIs such as payment success rate, transaction volume, system uptime, and overall performance.
- Prepare detailed Product Requirement Documents that cover business flows, technical details, and exception or edge-case handling.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a closely related discipline is required.
- Prior product management experience in payments, preferably in banking or fintech, is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of backend payment processing, API-led channel integration, edge-case management, and relevant payment protocols.
- Good understanding of digital banking platforms, payment infrastructure, and the digital payments environment in Southeast Asia; exposure to Indonesia or the Philippines is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to build products with a strong focus on user needs.
- Comfortable using JIRA, Confluence, or comparable collaboration and tracking tools.
- Highly self-driven, proactive, and able to perform well in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong sense of ownership, along with excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Able to work hands-on with technical teams and connect business needs with technology concepts such as APIs and system architecture.
