Role Summary

This is a full-time, on-site Product Manager position in Austin, TX. It is an individual contributor role on a small, fast-moving team. You will own your product areas end to end, from early discovery through launch, and your work will be used directly by clinical researchers. The role calls for someone who can prototype quickly, turn ideas into clear mockups, communicate complex information effectively, and work closely with engineering, customers, and leadership. The team also expects practical use of AI tools to improve speed and quality of work.

Product Strategy and Roadmap

  • Contribute to roadmap planning by using research, customer feedback, and business priorities.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to keep execution aligned with company objectives.
  • Serve as the internal expert on the product and its capabilities.
  • Support sales and marketing efforts by joining demos, preparing demo environments, and ensuring the team has current product information.

Product Requirements and Prioritization

  • Collect and interpret customer needs, market signals, and competitive insights to guide product decisions.
  • Prepare detailed requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Rank features and improvements based on business value, customer impact, and technical feasibility.

Prototyping and Design

  • Build interactive prototypes that clearly communicate product ideas to engineering, design, and other stakeholders.
  • Use Figma or similar tools to create mockups that speed up feedback and reduce uncertainty during handoff.
  • Review prototype usability before development starts.

AI-Enabled Working Style

  • Use AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Notion AI, or comparable platforms to speed up documentation, research synthesis, and product analysis.
  • Spot opportunities to build AI features into the product, including smarter defaults, workflow automation, and user-facing insights.
  • Keep up with new AI capabilities relevant to product work and encourage adoption across the team.

Product Development and Release

  • Collaborate with engineering and design to deliver high-quality software.
  • Take part in agile practices such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release coordination.
  • Track testing of features and fixes to keep release timelines on course.
  • Perform user acceptance testing for new features.
  • Own release notes, knowledge base articles, and relevant SOP documentation.
  • Provide internal training for each product release.

Product Performance and Continuous Improvement

  • Use customer and stakeholder feedback to improve the product over time.
  • Carry out market research, competitive analysis, and customer interviews to shape strategy and decisions.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Design, or a related discipline is required; an MBA or equivalent experience is an advantage.
  • You should have strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities and be able to turn customer and market insights into practical product plans.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping tools is needed, with Figma preferred and Balsamiq, Sketch, or similar tools also acceptable.
  • You must use AI tools actively and practically to accelerate your work.
  • Experience in an agile software environment and familiarity with agile methods and best practices are required.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills are necessary, along with the ability to influence and align teams across functions.
  • You should be able to influence without direct authority and work respectfully with different teams.
  • A strong interest in technology and innovation, plus a customer-first mindset and focus on great user experiences, is important.

Preferred Background

  • Training or coursework in UX/UI design or human-computer interaction is a plus.
  • Experience in clinical research, life sciences, or regulated software environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with design systems and accessibility standards is helpful.
  • Experience running usability tests or user research sessions is an advantage.
