About the role

DoorDash is looking for a Designer to join the New Verticals Fulfillment team. This role centers on improving the end-to-end experience for Dashers and Shoppers through AI-led products that respond dynamically in real time. You will design intelligent tools that help Dashers make better decisions, supporting stronger efficiency, service quality, and earnings across the platform.

The work goes beyond individual interfaces and focuses on systems, workflows, and complex user journeys. You will help turn unclear, cross-functional problem areas into well-defined projects, create production-ready prototypes, and use LLM-based tools to improve the experience. The role sits at the intersection of design, data, engineering, research, and operations, and it contributes to DoorDash’s larger goal of becoming a full-service platform for everyday needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead meaningful design initiatives from early concept through release, with a focus on measurable impact.
• Convert ambiguous, cross-functional challenges into practical and well-scoped work.
• Create end-to-end solutions that address workflows and larger system behavior, not just isolated screens.
• Use LLM-based tools effectively and build new ones when available tools are not sufficient.
• Maintain a high bar for design quality by producing polished, production-ready prototypes.
• Shape product direction using evidence from data, design outputs, and user insights.
• Work closely with Engineering, Product, Research, Analytics, and Operations to deliver cohesive solutions.
• Coach and support other designers while helping raise the team’s overall design capability.

Requirements

• A portfolio that shows strong craftsmanship, systems thinking, and leadership.
• Experience with code-based prototyping and using LLMs as part of the design process.
• Strong background in designing for fast-moving marketplace or consumer technology products.
• Ability to bring structure to unclear problems and turn them into actionable solutions.
• Experience designing across workflows and systems rather than only single screens.
• Comfort building or adapting AI-powered tools when needed.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to influence plans through data and design work.
• Proven ability to mentor teammates and improve team performance.
• Experience working in high-growth, cross-functional environments.
