Job description

Role Overview

This position is for a Product Analyst within the Ground Transport business, operating at RL2/3 level and based in Bangalore. The role reports to the Director of Product Management.

About the Team

Ground Transport is a rapidly expanding part of the company, helping millions of travellers book bus, rail, and cab trips. The function is central to improving travel access across India, especially in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, while keeping the experience convenient, economical, and dependable.

The team is also reshaping the booking and travel journey through AI-led product innovation. This includes personalized suggestions, conversational booking flows, automated support, and real-time decisioning to create modern travel experiences at scale.

The group brings together product, business, engineering, design, and data science expertise to solve traveller problems across the full journey lifecycle and deliver outcomes that matter to customers and the business.

Role Summary

The Product Analyst will turn product and user-journey data into actionable insight for Product Managers. The work will support decision-making, launch measurement, roadmap shaping, and stronger product performance through analytics, experimentation, and scalable insight systems.

This role will be responsible for tracking product outcomes, supporting discovery and launch evaluation, and creating AI-enabled workflows and self-service analytics solutions that reduce manual reporting effort. The analyst will work closely with Product, Data, and Technology teams to convert business questions into reliable metrics, dashboards, and practical recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify repeated ad hoc analysis needs and convert them into dashboards, templates, automated reports, or AI-supported workflows.
  • Use AI-based tools to speed up insight generation, spot anomalies, document workflows, and produce stakeholder-ready summaries.
  • Work with data science, product, and technology partners to create a self-service analytics environment for common product questions.
  • Keep metric definitions, reusable query logic, and documentation current so outputs stay consistent and dependable.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to build hypotheses, estimate opportunities, and assess product concepts using data.
  • Design and interpret experiments, A/B tests, cohort analysis, and pre/post launch reviews to inform roadmap choices.
  • Prepare concise readouts linking analysis to customer outcomes, business impact, and next steps.
  • Translate business and product questions into analytical requirements, tracking needs, and data definitions.
  • Partner with engineering and data teams to strengthen event instrumentation, reporting quality, and analytical coverage.
  • Produce structured product insights for leadership reviews, roadmap conversations, and launch retrospectives.
  • Define success measures for launches, feature adoption, funnel movement, engagement, conversion, and retention.
  • Create dashboards and insight stories that show what is working, what is not, and where attention is needed next.
  • Surface trends, anomalies, and friction points in the user journey, then convert them into actionable recommendations.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate brings 1 to 3 years of experience in product analytics, business analytics, data analytics, BI, or another product-facing analytical role. Strong SQL skills and proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets are expected, along with experience using Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or comparable data visualization tools.

The role also calls for familiarity with product metrics, funnels, cohorts, experiments, and the ability to translate analysis into clear business guidance. Exposure to AI tools, workflow automation, no-code or low-code platforms, Python, or analytics engineering will be an added advantage. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across Product, Data, Engineering, Growth, and business teams are essential.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means transforming product and customer data into clear insights that improve roadmap choices, feature performance, and user journeys. It also means building reliable dashboards, metrics, and AI-enabled self-serve workflows while partnering with the Data Science team on analysis, experimentation, and insight generation. Effective collaboration with Product, Data, Technology, and Data Science teams will be key to creating analytics solutions that scale.
