Procurement Specialist

Job Overview

The Procurement Specialist will support the acquisition of goods and services, build and maintain supplier partnerships, and make sure all purchasing activities follow company policies and budget guidelines. The position is centered on driving savings, protecting quality, and ensuring materials and services arrive on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and circulate RFQs and RFPs, then review and compare supplier submissions.
• Source, assess, and develop relationships with approved suppliers.
• Lead negotiations on pricing, contract terms, and delivery timelines.
• Create and process purchase orders based on authorized purchase requests.
• Follow procurement progress and keep an eye on delivery schedules.
• Make sure procurement actions align with internal policies and applicable regulations.
• Work with internal stakeholders to clarify specifications and business needs.
• Keep procurement files, records, and supporting documents accurate and up to date.
• Study supplier performance and market movements to uncover savings opportunities.
• Assist with contract renewals and broader contract management activities.
• Handle issues linked to shipments, invoices, and vendor service quality.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, Operations, and other teams as required.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a similar discipline.
• Professional certification in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Contract Management such as CIPS or CPM is advantageous.
• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain roles.
• Background in general purchasing and vendor management.
• Ability to coordinate several projects and stakeholders across different locations.
• Sound understanding of procurement workflows, tendering, and contract administration.
• Experience with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or similar systems.
• Knowledge of cost evaluation, supplier assessment, and risk mitigation.
• Familiarity with procurement policies, relevant regulations, and industry practices.
• Understanding of local and international sourcing methods.
