Role Overview
Join a reputable regional organisation in Casino, New South Wales as a Procurement Officer and play a key role in driving smarter procurement strategies that help deliver significant community benefits. This position offers a salary of $65 per hour plus superannuation for 35 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee procurement functions ensuring compliance with organisational policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Manage stock control and coordinate inventory systems effectively.
- Develop and maintain solid relationships with suppliers, procurement partners, and internal teams.
- Assist with tendering processes, including Requests for Quotations (RFQ) and Expressions of Interest (EOI).
- Provide procurement training and guidance to staff across departments.
- Identify and implement process improvements to minimize risks and maximize cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure timely availability of materials and services to support operational needs.
Candidate Requirements
- Certificate IV in Procurement or equivalent practical experience.
- At least four years of experience in procurement, purchasing, inventory, or supply chain management.
- Sound knowledge of procurement principles, contract management, and ethical probity.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
- Strong multitasking abilities and capable of delivering results under pressure.
- A collaborative mindset with strong integrity and accountability standards.
- Possession of a valid Class C Driver Licence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in local government or similarly regulated settings.
- Familiarity with tendering and contract administration processes.
- Previous exposure to managing budgets.
- Understanding of inventory control and asset disposal procedures.
