Overview
Erie 1 BOCES is seeking a qualified ESOL Teacher to deliver instruction aligned to state and federal standards for English language learners at Casey Middle School in East Amherst, NY. This part-time position involves planning lessons, assessing student progress, and fostering a supportive learning environment that helps students develop reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, organize, and deliver instruction in English adhering to applicable standards.
- Ensure consistency and coordination with the district/school instructional program to help students meet or exceed academic targets.
- Create lesson plans employing diverse teaching methods and strategies.
- Address all communication modes to enhance students’ comprehensive language skills within content areas.
- Conduct academic and language assessments to track student growth and language acquisition.
- Maintain thorough, precise records documenting student progress and learning advancement.
- Provide a nurturing, encouraging classroom atmosphere that promotes student accountability and uses challenging instructional approaches.
- Modify curriculum to offer individualized, small group, or remedial instruction targeting specific student needs and subgroups.
- Use varied instructional techniques tailored to students’ different abilities and interests.
- Effectively utilize available instructional time to maximize student achievement.

Compensation: Annual salary range of $47,200 to $53,700
