Practice Overview

The practice supports end-to-end digital transformation through technology, design, cybersecurity, risk management, and financial engineering. Working alongside BCG, its specialists help design tailored technical solutions and accelerate delivery through platform builds, application consolidation, and large-scale system implementations.

Role Summary

As a Principal in IT/Digital within the Energy Practice, you will partner with client leadership teams to understand strategic challenges, shape IT direction, secure alignment on recommendations, and guide BCG case teams in delivering performance-changing outcomes. The role includes designing and applying custom IT strategies, digital platforms, and architecture that create durable value for clients.

You will assess and coach client technology teams, oversee quality and risk, and ensure client expectations and escalation handling are well managed. In addition to guiding the project team, you will also be accountable for solution execution and operational management.

You will help clients build compelling IT strategies, concepts, and solutions that influence their operating model as well as their digital and data landscape. The position also requires managing diverse consulting teams through mentorship, feedback, knowledge sharing, and creating space for team development. As a senior leader, you will also contribute to practice development and help strengthen the BCG Platinion reputation in AI and digital leadership.

What You’ll Do

• Work directly with client leaders to define key challenges and shape strategic IT responses.
• Develop, communicate, and gain support for recommendations that drive transformation.
• Lead consulting teams in delivering high-impact assignments and complex engagements.
• Create and implement tailored IT strategies, digital platforms, and architecture solutions.
• Review, coach, and support client technology teams while managing quality and risk.
• Own operational execution and solution management in addition to advisory responsibilities.
• Help clients design IT concepts with lasting impact on organization, operations, digital capability, and data.
• Lead, mentor, and develop consulting talent through feedback, knowledge sharing, and growth opportunities.
• Advise clients on broader business issues beyond the immediate scope of the project.
• Contribute to practice growth and reinforce the firm’s position as a leader in AI and digital topics.

Requirements

• 8 to 12+ years of experience in IT consulting or digital transformation.
• Background in the Energy sector, including areas such as oil & gas or petrochemicals.
• Proven success in delivering IT transformation programs.
• Strong knowledge of IT and digital architecture, cloud, data, and AI topics.
• Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder-management capability.
• Excellent academic qualification.
• Strong English communication skills; Arabic is an advantage.
