Role overview
A technology-led organisation is looking for a Principal Commercial Analyst to sit within its commercial leadership team in Dublin. This is a high-visibility position that blends strategic thinking, commercial judgement and advanced analytics to support senior decision-making. The role calls for someone who can work at both a high-level and a detailed level, turning complex information into practical recommendations that improve business outcomes across several markets and revenue streams.
Key responsibilities
- Review commercial performance across markets, products and revenue streams and turn findings into clear business insight.
- Spot emerging patterns, risks and opportunities that can strengthen strategic choices.
- Create executive-ready performance reporting and insights for senior leaders.
- Work alongside commercial and operational teams to test assumptions and lift performance.
- Build analytical models and reporting approaches that improve decision-making quality.
- Offer commercially grounded recommendations that support revenue expansion and profitability.
- Contribute to business planning, forecasting and periodic performance reviews.
- Guide and influence a broader analyst community to help improve analytical standards across the business.
What the company is looking for
Applicants should bring strong commercial and strategic problem-solving experience, ideally developed in one or more of the following settings: strategy consulting, corporate finance, transaction services, deals, commercial finance, FP&A, revenue strategy or commercial analytics.
The ideal candidate will have around 3 to 5 years of experience in a commercial, strategy, consulting or finance-focused role, along with strong quantitative and analytical ability. You should be comfortable structuring complex business problems, understand the drivers of revenue, profitability and overall performance, and be able to present findings to senior stakeholders with confidence.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are important, together with a proactive, inquisitive and solutions-focused approach.
Preferred education and qualifications
A degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics or a similar field is preferred. Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA or an equivalent credential would be an advantage. Experience in technology, digital, eCommerce, travel or other fast-moving commercial environments would also be beneficial.
