About the Role
A prominent international provider of infrastructure solutions is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to spearhead finance operations throughout Ireland and the UK. This is a pivotal leadership position that integrates strategic finance, operational oversight, and business partnering within a rapidly expanding European organization. Based in Dublin, the CFO will serve as a crucial advisor to the Managing Director, focusing on enhancing financial performance, upholding governance standards, and fostering sustainable growth. This role presents a significant opportunity to influence financial strategy and operational effectiveness. You will direct the finance function, collaborating closely with senior management and European finance teams to ensure robust reporting, compliance, and insightful business analysis. It is a hands-on leadership role for an individual who thrives on merging strategic foresight with practical execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the Managing Director and the executive leadership team.
- Spearhead financial strategy, planning, budgeting, and forecasting for operations in Ireland and the UK.
- Produce precise monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and analyses.
- Monitor business performance against budgetary targets and identify potential risks and avenues for growth.
- Champion initiatives for industrial cost control, margin enhancement, and operational efficiency improvements.
- Provide critical financial insights to support investment decisions, capital expenditure, and project evaluations.
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and HR departments to align financial objectives with overall business goals.
- Ensure adherence to Irish and UK statutory regulations, international accounting standards, and internal company policies.
- Enhance internal control systems, corporate governance, and financial processes.
- Manage cash flow, optimize working capital, and oversee treasury functions.
- Supervise tax compliance, manage intercompany transactions, and maintain relationships with financial institutions and external auditors.
- Lead and mentor the finance, accounting, and payroll teams across both Ireland and the UK.
About You
- Possess a Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field.
- A professional accounting qualification is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance leadership roles.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, controlling, and operational finance.
- Prior experience in industrial, manufacturing, engineering, or infrastructure sectors is a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with Irish and UK financial regulations and compliance mandates.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Fluency in English is required, along with a valid work visa for Ireland.
