Job description

Role overview

This position is ideal for a technically strong, customer-facing professional who wants to work in a fast-moving technology environment. You will operate as a presales specialist and be supported with ongoing learning and mentorship as you grow into the role of a sales engineer.

What you will do

You will work alongside sales executives as the main technical contact during the presales journey. In this consultative position, you will help progress new business opportunities by delivering demos, supporting evaluations, and guiding prospective as well as existing customers through the buying process.

Key responsibilities

  • Showcase and walk customers through AvePoint products, both online and in person, in line with their business goals.
  • Engage with prospects, answer their questions, and support them as they assess and compare solutions.
  • Create customer-specific proof-of-concept environments during the sales cycle to demonstrate how the products meet stated needs.
  • Contribute to proposals for RFIs and RFPs, clearly explaining how the solutions address customer requirements and deliver strong value.
  • Serve as the bridge between customers and the product management and development teams.
  • Help sales teams understand customer goals and organizational context so Microsoft and AvePoint technologies can be positioned effectively.
  • Build trusted relationships with key business and technical stakeholders who can champion adoption inside their organizations.
  • Shape the customer’s vision of how AvePoint can lower costs and improve business agility.
  • Support partner and marketing field initiatives when needed.

What makes you a strong fit

The company values agility, enthusiasm, collaboration, and a willingness to bring new ideas. It is looking for someone who wants to keep learning, expand their career, and contribute meaningfully to customers, partners, and the wider team.

In this role, you will act as an important technical resource across the sales cycle. You should be comfortable explaining the capabilities and business value of the software and services, helping customers build consensus, and showing how the solution addresses challenges related to SharePoint and Office 365.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer, Technology, or Engineering.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong and confident presentation ability.
  • Advanced communication skills across business and technical discussions, with the ability to connect technical value to business needs.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to support deal closure using both technical depth and a sales-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and coworkers.
  • Comfort working independently as well as in a highly collaborative team setting.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a changing environment.
  • Strong business analysis capability.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills.
  • At least 3 years of experience designing and implementing solutions using Microsoft SharePoint and Office 365.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft cloud technologies such as Office 365, Dynamics 365, and Azure.
  • Understanding of SharePoint architecture, components, configuration, version differences, and hybrid setups.
  • Practical experience with plugins, workflows, and solutions on SharePoint.
  • Preferred experience with .NET, C#, and JavaScript.
  • Ability to create PowerShell scripts for automation.
  • Experience with IT operations topics such as server and software installation, configuration, and administration, particularly Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, and SharePoint.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, Active Directory, SMTP, and DHCP is an advantage.
  • Broader understanding of server and cloud offerings in the technology industry.
