Role Overview
The Pre-Sales Customer Engineer (CE) is a vital part of Cloudflare’s technical sales strategy in Singapore, focusing on Indonesia. This role engages deeply with customers, guiding them through technical discovery, architecture design, and ensuring successful adoption and expansion of Cloudflare’s solutions in security, networking, and developer platforms. The CE maintains strong customer relationships, drives business outcomes, and uses AI tools to streamline routine tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with sales teams to lead technical assessments and deliver customized solutions, demonstrations, and proof of concepts covering Cloudflare’s product suite.
- Act as a trusted advisor, building and maintaining enduring technical relationships throughout the customer lifecycle, including onboarding, renewals, and scaling.
- Ensure technical strategies align with evolving customer business goals and Cloudflare’s product development plans.
- Manage commercial targets with accountability for new business and growth, conducting technical reviews with stakeholders to illustrate the value of Cloudflare’s platform.
- Utilize AI-augmented systems to automate administrative responsibilities, focusing efforts on impactful technical advisory and design.
Candidate Profile
- Experience of 3 to 5 years in customer-facing pre-sales roles such as solutions, customer, or sales engineering.
- Strong technical knowledge across web application security, network protocols (routing, DNS, DDoS prevention), Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), cloud technologies, and enterprise architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to manage revenue-driven responsibilities within SaaS sales environments, with sound understanding of business metrics and enterprise sales processes.
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills able to communicate effectively with technical teams and executive leadership.
- Fluent or very proficient in Bahasa Indonesia with frequent travel to Indonesia required for client engagement.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Cloudflare’s developer tools, particularly Workers AI and AI Gateway platforms.
- Practical experience in AI applications such as prompt engineering, large language models, or retrieval-augmented generation.
- Programming skills in Python, JavaScript, or similar languages to create integrations and edge functions.
Compensation
This role offers a competitive base salary combined with a variable commission connected to meeting commercial goals including new business acquisition and account growth.
