About Sony Interactive Entertainment
Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), the creator of the PlayStation brand, is a subsidiary of Sony Group Corporation and a global technology and entertainment business. The company develops hardware, network services, and unforgettable interactive experiences for more than 100 million people, backed by a long-standing tradition of innovation and quality.
Role overview
As a Portfolio Strategist, you will help assess the existing and future games portfolio, support investment analysis across different genres and business models, and shape recommendations that balance risk and return. In this role, you will work closely with senior strategists and partner teams to build models, analyze markets, and turn insights into clear recommendations for studio and PlayStation Studios leadership.
What you will do
- Help review the games portfolio across IP, genre, business model, and risk profile to uncover areas for expansion and mix improvement.
- Analyze the gaming market, competitor activity, consumer trends, and technology shifts to inform strategic decisions.
- Develop and update portfolio models through multiple iterations so the portfolio remains aligned with investment goals and risk-return objectives.
- Provide decision support to senior strategists and executives using data-driven analysis of current performance and future opportunities.
- Own selected strategic workstreams and high-priority projects, delivering them with support from senior team members.
- Partner with studio and production teams to assess how well development plans fit the portfolio and how strong their economic outlook may be.
What we’re looking for
- 3 to 5 years of experience in strategy, product, analytics, gaming, or management/strategy consulting.
- Good knowledge of the gaming industry, along with awareness of the wider media and entertainment sector.
- Strong ownership mindset and the ability to work independently and follow projects through to completion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain findings to different audiences.
- Strong financial modeling ability, plus practical experience with mathematical models and statistical methods.
- Ability to produce polished deliverables such as PowerPoint presentations and Excel models.
