This contract role is for a Policy Consultant who will work remotely and support clients on a flexible schedule of 10 to 40 hours per week. The position offers compensation in the range of $20 to $58 per hour.
What you will do
- Examine, prepare, and refine policy materials, legal agreements, proposals, and research documents with strong command of Word and PDF software.
- Offer practical advisory support and clear recommendations on topics that may involve regulation, law, healthcare, academics, or finance.
- Carry out detailed document checks to make sure content is accurate, easy to understand, and aligned with accepted industry standards.
- Assist with accurate formatting, tracked edits, form completion, and information extraction from documents.
- Work with teams across functions to turn complex information into concise policies and procedures that can be acted on easily.
- Keep current with changing rules, regulations, and field-specific guidelines relevant to the assignment.
Requirements
- Prior professional experience in government policy operations is required.
- Strong expertise in Word and PDF tools is essential, including tracked edits, formatting, document review, and data extraction.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills are needed, with a strong preference for clear and professional interactions.
- Hands-on experience drafting, interpreting, and reviewing complex policy or regulatory materials is expected.
- Ability to juggle several assignments while meeting tight deadlines in a fast-moving remote setting is important.
